Upcoming classes (#3831):Junior Faculty Roundtable: “Writing Assignments for Spring Semester”
This session is for faculty from the life and physical sciences. The DOC has recently announced the renewal of Brown's writing requirement. The Sciences have less of a history of integrating writing assignments into courses, but `writing to learn' can be very effective for student engagement and achievement of course goals. We will discuss short writing assignments that can be used effectively in intro, intermediate and advanced courses, without undue additional time requirements for the professor. Sponsored by the Dean of the Faculty, the Junior Faculty Roundtable is a series of lunches designed to bring new and junior faculty together with campus leaders and senior colleagues to explore a variety of faculty issues.
