What is training.brown?

Training.brown.edu is a website that allows you to register for trainings and other events affiliated with Brown.

What do you need?

You need a Brown username and password. If you are a Brown student, faculty or staff member, you have an account, even if you do not usually use electronic services like email.

If you have not yet activated your account, you can do that by going to http://activate.brown.edu/ and following the instructions. As you activate your account, please make a note of your username - this is what you will use to access Brown electronic services.

If you're unsure whether you've already activated, you can search for your own name in the online directory at http://directory.brown.edu. If you see an email address listed next to your name, you have already activated your account.

If you've activated your account but do not remember your username (which is different from your email address) or your password, you will need to go to the Help Desk in Room 101 of the CIT (115 Waterman Street) with your picture ID to have your password reset.

How do I register for a training?

To register, click the Register link in the training description. If the training is not yet open for registration, you will not be able to register, but the page will note that registration is not yet enabled.

If the class is full, you will be put on the waitlist. If others cancel their registrations and there is a space available, you will be automatically registered for the course and notified by email that you are no longer on the waitlist.

Some trainings will have separate seats for Macintosh and PC computers. Please choose the platform you would like to use. Each platform has a separate waitlist.

If you cannot attend a training, please click on My Registrations and cancel your registration so someone on the waitlist can attend.
